@JenL3, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing an "Automatic Repair" message on your HP PC with an Intel Core i5 10th Gen processor, and restarting hasn't resolved the issue. Let's walk through some steps to help you get your system back up and running.

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Power off the PC completely.
  2. Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.).
  3. Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  4. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect the power and try turning the PC back on.

Step 2: Boot into Recovery Mode

If the issue persists:

  1. Turn off the PC.
  2. Turn it back on and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the Choose an option screen appears.
  3. Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

Step 3: Run System File Checker

If Startup Repair doesn’t work:

  1. Go to Advanced options > Command Prompt.
  2. In the Command Prompt window, type:sfc /scannow
  3. Press Enter and wait for the scan to complete.

Step 4: Perform a System Restore

If you have restore points enabled:

  1. Go to Advanced options > System Restore.
  2. Follow the prompts to restore your PC to a previous working state.

Step 5: Reset the PC (Last Resort)

If none of the above steps work:

  1. Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
  2. Choose Keep my files (if you want to preserve your data) or Remove everything for a clean reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
