HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-d0005na

On Start Up I am getting the following message:

C:\Program Files\WindowsApp\PortraitDisplays.HPDisplayControl_4.8.67.0_x64__2dgm...\StartupTask.exe

Incorrect Function.

I can dismiss this and carry on, but does anyone know why this is occurring and how I may resolve it?

Thanks

Paul Sims

That app is the "HP Display Control" quote:

This package provides HP Display Control for supported computer models running a supported operating system. HP Display Control provides an elegant software-controlled interface to adjust Brightness, Contrast, Volume and Viewing Mode for touch and non-touch AiO (All-In-One) products.

I assume something went wrong so try re-installing it as follows:

Select Start , then select Settings > Apps > Apps & features.

Then look for that display control app and remove it before the re-install.

If the app has a "repair" button try a repair first.

Download the one listed for your system

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp140001-140500/sp140175.exe

The app is not necessary so you may want to try it out and if not useful, uninstall it.

Thanks BeemerBiker,  Followed your instructions and downloaded a replacement copy of the HP Display Control App.

Then restarted the PC and 'hey presto' no sign of the Incorrect Function message,
