I recently attempted to install a windows update on my HP Stream Laptop - Model Number 14-ax055sa. I believe it was the Windows 10 1909 update. I used an external hard drive to increase drive space in order for the update to take effect.
During the install the laptop restarted and upon restart is now stuck on a screen with Error message 'Please insert the external storage media and press OK'. I have attempted to re-insert the external hard drive used to begin the update however this does not seem to be recognised. I have attempted to restart the laptop in safe mode and also access the BIOS however no short cuts seem to work either.
I suspect i need to reinstall Windows and have dowloaded this, however i cant access any drivers or USB ports in order to reinstall it.
Has anyone encountered the same issue and can anyone advise how i could fix this.
Thanks

@Mossy831 I suggest you make use of the HP Recovery partition (F11) or the HP recovery media when you attempt to reinstall windows as it looks like the update was unintentionally interrupted via a internet disconnection for example, that said, If you don't have an HP Recovery media and have attempted reset using the windows troubleshooter or a retail copy of windows, you'll need to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.
Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here

@Riddle_Decipher Thank you for your reply. Very much appreciated.
Unfortunately I simply cannot seem to find any solution to avoiding the Error message appearing on start up.
I restart the laptop, continuously pressing F11 in an attempt to enter the Windows Recovery Environment, however nothing I seem to do avoids the error message appearing and at this point I simply cannot do anything.
Do you know of any other way to get into the Recovery Environment?
Thanks in advance.

@Mossy831 As I mentioned earlier, if the F11 isn't working as it should, you'll need to order a recovery media: Click here for steps.
Or you may also attempt to download the same using the steps on this link: click here
Let me know how that pans out,
Good luck!
