MS Office

Honestly people, it should not be difficult to get an answer regarding which MS Office version to install... 32 bit or 64 bit???

I have an HP Pavillion. I'm running Windows 11, version 10.0.22621

Do I need to provide additional details? Am I missing something here?

I can't even find the answer on the internet... well, at least not from an independent (non HP/non MS) source.

I really appreciate any advise provided. Thanks.

Peace out.

Hi:

I install the 64-bit version of MS Office on all of my PC's.

Since W11 only comes in 64 bit, I recommend you install the 64-bit version of Office.

Here's why...

The biggest benefit from using a 64-bit application on a 64-bit OS is that you have full access to all the memory available on the system.

With 64-bit, memory addresses the application can access more memory than its 32-bit equivalent.

In addition, 64-bit programs will work "better" than 32-bit ones as they are using the native system architecture. Operations such as memory reads are performed natively etc.

This means that the OS doesn't have to do any extra work "translating" (packing/unpacking of memory etc.) the commands that the application is using.
