HP Desktop - M01-F0027na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have just got my daughter a brand new desktop computer. Set it up and installed updates. Installed chrome and it will not open, flashes for a fraction of a second and then disappears and is not logged as being opened in task manager. The same happens with Roblox.

I have tried restarting, I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, nothing works.

Please help - the joy of a new computer is wearing off rapidly when it doesn't work!

Hi@Welch88, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your concern and thank you for using this forum, it is a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that google chrome is freezing.

I’d love to help!

I recommend you to uninstall google chrome and restart the computer. Then download and install it again and check if it works.

Here is how it is done.

  1. On your computer, close all Chrome windows and tabs.
  2. Click the Start menu >Settings.
  3. Click System.
  4. On the left, click Apps & features.
  5. Find and click Google Chrome.
  6. Click Uninstall.
  7. Confirm by clicking Uninstall.
  8. To delete your profile information, like bookmarks and history, check "Also delete your browsing data."
  9. Click Uninstall.
  10. Once the browser is uninstalled completely restart the computer.
  11. Then download and install google chrome again.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!
