Solved!

Intel C600/X79 SATA Controller missing from the drivers page

HP Recommended
HP z420 Workstation
Microsoft Windows XP

So I want to run Windows XP in AHCI mode without re-installing, and then I can't find the F6 Text-mode setup drivers for XP. If you could link me to a page where I could get those, that would be very helpful.

Hi:

I don't see that they are missing.

The Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA AHCI Controller driver is inside the Intel RST driver file found on your PC's support page.

I have pulled the driver file out of the exe file, zipped it up and attached it below.

This is the 32 bit driver, since you did not specify XP X64.

Here is a partial copy and paste of the driver setup information file which shows the supported AHCI controllers listed...

;********************************************************
[Strings]
;Localizable
DiskName = "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver"
*PNP0600.DeviceDesc = "Intel AHCI Controller"
PBG_SATA_AHCI.DeviceDesc = "Intel(R) C600 Series Chipset SATA AHCI Controller"
INTEL="Intel"
