Whenever I try to login to my PC using my Pin, it says “Something happened and your pin isn’t available. Click to set up your pin again” which i click. But it does nothing and then a pop up comes up and says “The system detected an overrun of a stack-based buffer in this application. This overrun could potentially allow, malicious user to gain control of this application.

Windows stores all the information related to the PIN settings in the Ngc folder. If this folder gets damaged, you cannot log in with the PIN. On the screen, you run into the issue – Windows 10/Windows 11 something happened and your PIN isn’t available click to set up your PIN again. To solve this issue, delete this folder.

You can use a password to log in to your PC. Then, follow the steps below:

Step 1: In File Explorer, click View and check Hidden items in Windows 10 or tap on View > Show > Hidden items in Windows 11.

Step 2: Copy and paste the path – C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft to the address bar and press Enter.

Step 3: Right-click on the Ngc folder and choose Delete.
