Hi @MABF,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how  it must feel when your keyboard suddenly stops working, especially since your mouse is still functioning.

Could you please share the exact HP model of your device and whether you’re using a wired, wireless, or built-in laptop keyboard

Here are a few steps you can try right away:

  1. Check connections: If it’s a wired keyboard, unplug and reconnect it to a different USB port. For wireless, ensure the receiver is firmly connected and the batteries are charged.

  2. Restart the system: A simple reboot can sometimes refresh the drivers and restore functionality.

  3. Test with another keyboard: If possible, connect a different keyboard to see if the issue is with the device or the system.

  4. Update drivers: Go to Device Manager, locate the keyboard, and update or reinstall the driver.

  5. Check accessibility settings: Sometimes features like Sticky Keys or Filter Keys can interfere with typing.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
