Hi everyone,
I’m trying to install Ubuntu 24.04 LTS on my HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC (model: TG01-2000i), but I’ve been running into some frustrating issues.
After booting from a live USB stick, the system hangs during startup. I’ve tried multiple solutions I found online, including tweaking BIOS settings like Secure Boot and others. Unfortunately, the only way I’ve managed to get Ubuntu to start is by using the acpi=off boot parameter.
This seems to be related to the BIOS/firmware on the motherboard. The downside is that with acpi=off, I can only boot the system in a kind of safe mode, which limits the system's performance and hardware support.
Is there any way to install and run Ubuntu with its full capabilities on this machine—without relying on acpi=off? I'd really appreciate any guidance or workarounds that would help unlock the full potential of Linux on this hardware.
Thanks in advance!
