Why can I no longer get the drivers and software without all the spyware data colection? NO I do not want to buy my suplys from HP. NO I do not want to have HP colecting data from my machine.
No I do not want to sign in to use my printer that I payed for. Do I need to take HP to court? None of this was required when i got this printer. How many pages I print or the levels of my toner is none of HP business.

Hi @vonShadowwalker,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's understandable that you may have concerns about data collection and privacy, especially when it comes to using printers. Unfortunately, many manufacturers, including HP, have started incorporating data collection features into their printers and accompanying software.
Here are a few suggestions to obtain drivers and software without unnecessary data collection.
- Official Website: Visit the official HP website to download the drivers and software for your MFP M130fn printer. On the HP support page, there is usually an option to download basic drivers or drivers-only packages. Be sure to look for options that don't include additional software or features you're not comfortable with.
- Custom Installation: During the installation process, carefully review the options presented to you. Some printer installations allow you to customize the software package, deselecting unnecessary features. Choose a custom installation and uncheck any boxes related to data collection or additional software.
- Open Source Drivers: Depending on your operating system, there might be open-source drivers available that you can use instead of the HP-provided ones. For some printers, community-developed drivers can be a privacy-friendly alternative.
Remember to regularly check for updates from the official HP website or other trusted sources to ensure your printer's software is up to date and secure.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
