M02-0234 Desktop ... On this new Dec'25 W11 desktop I've noticed anywhere from 1, 6, to 40 Lines of BridgeCommunication.exe -- in Task Mgr. I'm aware it helps with Updates mgmnt BUT How many lines should I have and may I just Rt Clk / Del the extra lines?  Many Thanks!

Thank you for the update. We understand your observation regarding the varying number of BridgeCommunication.exe entries in Task Manager. 

 

As mentioned earlier, this process is part of HP’s background communication framework, and the count can fluctuate depending on what tasks are being handled at that moment. It is normal to see multiple entries, and they are designed to close automatically once their tasks complete.

 

Since you’ve already confirmed that your drivers, software, and BIOS are up to date, and the HP Support Assistant has validated this, no further action is required at this stage. The presence of the executable in the DriverStore folder is expected, as that is where Windows maintains driver packages.

 

While the number of entries may appear high at times, manually ending them is not recommended because it could interrupt HP services. If the count rises again, you can continue monitoring, but rest assured that the system is functioning within its intended design.

Thank you for sharing the details. I understand the situation where multiple instances of BridgeCommunication.exe are appearing in Task Manager on your Windows 11 desktop. This process is part of HP software that manages communication between HP services and updates, so seeing several entries is expected when background tasks are active. The number of lines can vary depending on what the HP environment is handling at that time, which is why you may notice anywhere from 1 to 40.

 

To manage this effectively, please follow these steps:

Verify HP App Installation

  • Open the HP App from your Start menu.
  • Ensure it is updated to the latest version. Updates often optimize how background processes are handled.

 

Check HP Services in Windows

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate HP BridgeCommunication Service.
  • Confirm the service is set to Automatic and is running. This ensures the process is managed correctly.

 

Update HP Drivers and Utilities

  • Visit the HP Support Drivers page for your desktop model (M02-0234).
  • Download and install the latest BIOS, chipset, and HP utilities. Updated components reduce unnecessary duplicate processes.

 

Do Not End Tasks Manually

  • Right-clicking and ending BridgeCommunication.exe lines in Task Manager is not recommended. Doing so may interrupt HP updates or communication functions. The processes are designed to close automatically when tasks complete.

By following these steps, you will ensure the HP environment is functioning as intended and that the number of BridgeCommunication.exe entries remains within normal operation.

Thanks for the Reply. .... HP Sppt Asst tells me .... I'm up-to-date w/Software-Drivers ....and the BIOS was actually auto-updated recently .

Services.msc.... NO ... BridgeCommunications.exe appears BUT I see it in ... C: \ Windows\ System32\ DriverStore\FileRepository\hpcustomcapcomp.inf_amd64_383a15da209a6794\x64

 

While I don't look at Task Mgr often 40-Lines of BridgeComm in February & 6 lines recently (6 "May"be normal..??) cannot be right and I was hoping an answer would address Large Multi-Entries ... should it repeat.

I'll live with this and do the best I can.
