HP desktop, AIO, already has Microsoft 365 activated on it, so when I went to set it up I could t remember MY Microsoft password so it told me to go to and answer a bunch of questions for security purposes which I did and then it would email me with an option to change my password, but I have not received an email and that was more than 24 hrs ago? So what can I do now?

Hi @Skbanks
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It can be frustrating when you're stuck waiting for an important email to reset your password, but let's take some steps to resolve this issue.
1. Check Your Email (Including Spam/Junk Folders)
- Double-check that the email hasn’t been routed to your Spam, Junk, Promotions, or Other inbox tabs.
- Use the search bar in your email app to search for "Microsoft password reset" or "account security."
2. Verify the Email Address
- Ensure you entered the correct email address when initiating the password reset process. If you accidentally used a wrong or outdated email, you won’t receive the reset link.
3. Resend the Password Reset Email
- Go back to the Microsoft account recovery page and reinitiate the password reset request.
- This ensures the previous request hasn’t expired, as these links are typically time-sensitive.
4. Check Account Recovery Progress
- If you’ve already answered security questions and submitted a recovery form, you can track the status:
- Go to the Microsoft Account Recovery Form status page: https://account.live.com/acsr.
- Enter the required details to check if your request is still processing.
5. Ensure Your Email Service Is Working
- Try sending a test email to yourself or ask someone to email you to ensure your email account is receiving messages correctly.
- If your inbox is full, clear up some space and request the reset email again.
6. Contact Microsoft Support
- If you still don’t receive the email after waiting 24-48 hours, you might need direct assistance. Visit the Microsoft Account Support page to request help with recovering your account.
- Provide as much information as possible about your account to verify your identity.
7. Use a Different Recovery Option
- If your email address isn’t receiving the reset link:
- Use a phone number associated with your Microsoft account for recovery.
- If enabled, try recovering the account with your security questions or backup email address.
