Hi @Hh233, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP 89EB11 motherboard is failing POST (Power-On Self-Test) and shutting down. The short beep before shutting off usually indicates a hardware issue.
Try These Steps:
1️⃣ Power Cycle Your PC
- Unplug the power cord.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Plug it back in and try turning it on.
2️⃣ Clear CMOS (Reset BIOS)
Since your motherboard doesn’t have a removable CMOS battery, try these methods:
Method 1: BIOS Reset Jumper
- Locate the CMOS jumper (CLR_CMOS or JBAT1) on your motherboard.
- Move the jumper from pins 1-2 to 2-3, wait 10 seconds, then move it back.
- If no jumper, short the two CMOS pins using a screwdriver for 10 seconds.
Method 2: Reseat RAM & GPU
- Remove and reinsert your RAM and graphics card.
- If you have multiple RAM sticks, try booting with one stick at a time.
3️⃣ Check Power Supply
- If the PC turns off instantly, it could be a PSU issue.
- Try a different power outlet or PSU if available.
4️⃣ Check CPU & Thermal Paste
- If you recently removed the cooler, reapply thermal paste and reseat the CPU properly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
