I am trying to set up multiple monitors.
monitor 1 is connected via vga adacter that turns into hdmi then that plugs into the computer-that is working.
Screen two has hdmi straight to the the laptop. Computer recognizes the 3rd monitor, but the monitor isn't working. I have checked connections. Restarted computer. Reset settings on monitor. Tried every input possible on monitor. Nothing is working.
Are there settings on laptop that need changed? I did take cords with vga hook up to the other monitor and it works for sure.

Without the model number, it might not be practical. Since you are using a VGA to HDMI adapter for one monitor, the laptop must not be a newer model. It is curious that screen 2 is HDMI and works. So what is the screen 3?
Have you checked what Windows can determine?
Right click on an empty part of the desktop and pick "Display settings. When that opens look at "Multiple displays", then click on "Detect other display". Does that then see the other monitor?
I'm not an HP employee.
