My Documents folder and its contents is gone!!! I search for documents that were contained in the documents folder and it returns nothing. I tried previous versions and nothing appears. I did a recovery before updates and no luck. Please help

on another PC, download EVERYTHING SEARCH (www.voidtools.com) and save that tiny file to a USB key, it will be ZIP with 32/64 bit versions, unzip to the same USB key, then insert the USB key in the problem computer and run (as admin) everything.exe.  It will index the entire drive in a few seconds.  Then you enter in a missing file name (or part of the name) and it will show you if it exists and where (what folder) it is.

Often users accidentally drag a folder elsewhere and everything seems gone, this should find it.

If not, you use a program like RECUVA to undelete files.  I doubt you accidentally erases an entire folder.

Anyway, these are excellent tools to have for when things go wrong 🙂
