Hi @James750,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I know how annoying it can be when your mouse suddenly stops scrolling, especially when everything else seems to work fine. Let’s get your HP 925 Ergonomic Vertical Mouse back in action.

1. Re-Pair the Mouse (if using Bluetooth or Dongle)

If you're using the wireless dongle or Bluetooth:

2. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

HP offers a tool to detect and fix mouse issues:

🔗 Fix HP Keyboard, Mouse or Touchpad Not Working for Laptops and Computers| HP® Support

  • Scroll down to “Self-guided troubleshooting”.
  • Use the Microsoft Troubleshooter or the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool.

3. Check Windows Settings

  • Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mouse.
  • Ensure Scroll inactive windows when I hover over them is turned on.
  • Try adjusting scroll speed to see if it responds.

4. Test on Another Device

If possible, connect the mouse to another PC:

  • If scrolling works there, the issue is likely software-related.
  • If it doesn’t, the scroll wheel may be physically damaged.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
