Product: HP ENVY Desktop - 750-114
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have been trying to upgrade my HP PC Desktop BIOS using all the HP Diagnostic and Support tools available.  I have the most recent BIOS Update (2018 ver) saved on my PC for my specific Motherboard (2B47), but the update does not seem to take.

 

I have tried it with all programs closed and disabling my Antivirus.  I have tried this three times but after restarting the System Info continues to show the old BIOS info version from 2015.

 

Can someone please help me with identifying how to make this update work properly?

If you have no particular reason to install it, once again I advise you not to insist
But if not, look at the old version list and install before, an older one
Sometimes it can help, but I insist, only do it if you have no choice.

Do you have a specific reason for performing this update?
It does not work, difficult to know why, but if your computer works, you risk having a computer, which will no longer work

Thank you for this reply.  No, I currently still have the 2015 version A0.12.  I am looking to upgrade to the most current which is the one you mentioned; i.e. A0.20 mar 2018.  It just won't install it all the way for some reason and I am not getting any error codes to tell me why.

Thank you ,  Promethee.

I really appreciate the information!  I really don't have any known issues with the PC or software but just wanted to have everything updated since I have some new GPU, CPU and PSU hardware installed to upgrade the unit.  Everything has been working well so far but just thought that upgrading the BIOS to the most recent would be best.

Just see the fixes announced for the bios versions, but if the computer works well, I prefer to warn you, that it may not be worth taking the risk, it will not necessarily be better
And the important risk that it crashes exists, you can search in the community here, full of unresolved example
