HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000 (2D118AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I stepped away from my computer and when I returned it was off. I plugged in the charger but there is no light to indicate it was charging and the computer won't turn on. Is this a battery issue? And if it's serious can I use the hp warranty to fix it (I got it 4 months ago)

Hi @Josh2121,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Laptop PC 15s is not turning on, and there's no light indicating that it's charging when you plug in the charger, there could be several potential issues. It's challenging to pinpoint the exact problem without further information, but here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot.

Check the Power Connection:

  • Make sure the power outlet is functioning by plugging in another device.
  • Ensure that the power adapter is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.

Try a Different Outlet:

  • Plug the laptop into a different power outlet to rule out issues with the current outlet.

Inspect the Power Adapter:

  • Check for any damage or frayed wires on the power adapter. If you find any issues, you may need to replace it.

Hard Reset:

  • Perform a hard reset by removing the laptop's battery (if possible) and disconnecting the power adapter. Hold down the power button for about 15-20 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning on the laptop.

Battery Issues:

  • If your laptop has a removable battery, try removing it and connecting the power adapter directly to see if the laptop powers on. If it does, the battery might be faulty and may need replacement.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
