I purchased a Logitek Bluetooth wireless keyboard and while it works well enough it will not wake the PC from sleep like my older USB keyboard did. I did some research and found instructions to go to device manager and enable this in the HID Keyboard device properties. Unfortunately, there is no power tab in the properties. I assume that is because it is a wireless keyboard. I found further instructions to do similar things in the Bluetooth area and I see a checkbox to turn off the device to save power and a greyed-out checkbox to allow device to wake computer. That seems to be what I want, but I don't know how to make that option available. (Device Manager/Envy/Bluetooth/Realtek Wireless Bluetooth Adapter - Properties/Power Management tab -Allow this devide to wake the computer checkbox (greyed-out).
I believe I am close, but could use some guidance.
Thank you,
Mark

Hi @MarksPavilion,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for the detailed explanation, you’re right that you're close to resolving this. The issue you're facing with your Logitech Bluetooth keyboard is not waking your HP Envy desktop from sleep with Bluetooth peripherals, especially on Windows 11.
Fixes You Can Try
🔧 1. Enable Wake Support via Registry
You can force-enable wake support for Bluetooth devices:
Steps:
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.
- Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\BTHPORT\Parameters
- Right-click in the right pane > New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
- Name it: SystemRemoteWakeSupported
- Set its value to 1.
- Restart your PC.
This may unlock the wake option for your Realtek Bluetooth adapter.
2. Disable Hibernate Mode
Bluetooth devices disconnect during hibernate. To prevent this:
Steps:
- Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings.
- Click Change advanced power settings.
- Expand Sleep > Hibernate after.
- Set both On battery and Plugged in to Never.
- Click Apply and OK.
This ensures your PC uses Modern Standby, which keeps Bluetooth active.
3. Try Logitech Options+ Software
Logitech’s software may offer additional power and wake settings.
4. Use a USB Dongle Instead of Native Bluetooth
- Some Logitech keyboards come with a USB Unifying Receiver. These typically support wake-from-sleep better than native Bluetooth.
- If available, try using the dongle instead of pairing via Bluetooth.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!

VikramTheGreat,
Thank you very much for the detailed reply. Here is what I tried and what I saw, in the order I performed them. I am using your suggestion numbers so you can see I tried a different order.
2. Disable Hibernate mode. This is something I had done before coming here, I checked it again and it is indeed still disabled. I agree, it is a likely source of the issue, but was not in my case.
3. I had never used the Logi options+ software, so I poked around in it and did not see anything terrible helpful. The smart actions seemed a bit interesting, the AI interface doesn't interest me as a mid 60s I'll do it myself guy, so I decided to move on but left the App open. This turned out to be important I think.
4. Use a USB Dongle Instead of Native Bluetooth
I went into settings for Bluetooth and removed the keyboard. I plugged in the dongle and noted that Logi options+ showed the keyboard as inactive. I then removed the keyboard in the App and then chose Add device, it had me restart the keyboard which I did by removing a battery briefly. The app saw the keyboard and offered to set it up. The Setup routine offered options that were not available in my earlier investigation of the app. So the keyboard is set up and I was able to reprogram the print screen button which was a minor annoyance I am now happy to be rid of. (screen capture was putting both monitors into a very wide file on my desktop, now I can select areas and put them on the clipboard). The keyboard wakes the computer as desired.
So the answer appears to be that I should have run the Logi options+ application to install the keyboard instead of just connecting it to Bluetooth in windows and using it.
Your guidance got me there. Thank you very much for your help.
Mark

Hi @MarksPavilion,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed update. It’s great to hear that running the Logi Options+ application directly to install the keyboard did the trick. I’m glad you were also able to fine-tune the Print Screen button to your liking sounds like a nice quality-of-life upgrade!
It’s always satisfying when a small shift in the setup process solves the bigger problem, and I’m happy my suggestions could point you in the right direction.
If you ever run into another challenge (keyboard-related or otherwise), feel free to reach out. I’m always here to help.
Wishing you smooth typing and trouble-free wake-ups from now on!
Take care and have an amazing day!
