My new HP printer only scans to email or cloud. How can I get it to scan to computer (documents)?
Any document scanned "to Cloud" disappears without trace. It does not appear in Documents.

What you can / should do depends on which application or software you are using.

HP App / HP Smart - Application
HP App / HP Smart application can be set to Scan content and then send it to a destination:
- Save to a local destination folder - For example, Documents for PDF scans or Pictures for photo / image scans
- Share the scanned content to Email
- Fax the scanned content to HP Mobile Fax
- HP Smart Shortcuts -- Print, Send to one or more recipients using Email, or Save scanned content to a supported Cloud account. NOTE: The "save to Cloud" option is more likely to create the results you expect when you select a sub-folder (in the Cloud Account) as the destination.

Printer Software - HP Scan / HP Universal Scan
If you have installed the full driver printer software, the driver includes HP Scan
This printer also supports installing the Standalone version of the software: HP Universal Scan
HP Scan / HP Universal Scan can be directed to use different Destinations, including:
- Local folder in your account (generally Documents for PDFs and Pictures for photos / images
- "Email as PDF" or "Email as JPEG"
- Shared network destination / folder
- Cloud account that is linked to your computer and your Windows account -- for example, OneDrive

Printer - Embedded Web Server (EWS) - Webscan
Your printer, when connected to your network or Wi-Fi Direct, can use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) > Web Scan
Web Scan does not require additional applications or software to be installed on the computer.
Web Scan, once it is enabled (first use), scans your content according to it's type and options then lets you store the scanned content to your computer as you want it done.

First Time Use Only – Alternate EWS - Enable Web Scan
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Network > Remote Scan > Item Web Scan = Switch ON
Use Web Scan
Open your Browser > Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Section Scan > Web Scan
Set up Web Scan the way you want it - for example, set the Source to ADF
Click Start Scan to scan your document / image using Web Scan
After the scan is complete, Save the scan to your computer.
