Hi, my OMEN pc has an intel i5 9500 6 core cpu which was working with all 6 cores and 12 logical processors available, however it now shows that there is only 1 core and 1 logical processor and the system is now extremely laggy and freezes especially under heavy loads such as multiple programs running concurrently, which it never had a problem with before. The only hardware change was that I swapped SSDs with another desktop(HP Pavillion gaming 690-0xx). And get this after the swap some of the system information from the HP Pavillion migrated to the HP Omen such as serial number, System name and system SKU. I have tried using msconfig. to reset the cores but only 1 shows up. I have updated the bios as well as formatting the ssd and reinstalling a clean version of windows 10. I have run all the diagnostic tests on the hardware and all the components passed. Kindly assist if you have an idea what the issue might be.
I have attached some screenshots.

Go into the device manager and uninstall all the processors and then reboot.
Is your product ID 3VH40AV#??? or 4LY37AA#ABG ?

Strange - uninstalling the CPU works for me when upgrading the cpu.
Try clearing the cmos (jumper 15)
Unplug from wall
press the power switch 2-3 times to discharge any residual electricity
touch finger to metal case.
move the blue jumper up for 20 seconds then put it back
alternately some HP can reset the CMOS by holding down the V key. My HP systems are too old for the V functionality.
I have never tried it but it is explained here
Possibly the V is upper case so hold the shift key. Lemme know if the V resets the cmos.
The reason I asked about the ID is that 4LY37AA#ABG has the HP cloud restore but the 3VH40AV#ABG does not. Are the 3 letter after the # correct for your system?
You can test for cloud restore available here

Get into the BIOS using ESC and then F10
What does the BIOS show for the CPU?
Some BIOS have an option to restrict the CPU to one core.
Make sure the bios allows hyperthreading and all cores are enabled.
It it looking more and more like windows 10 will need to be installed to fix the problem.
