I have a question about the file download -- NVIDIA Firmware Update Utility (Version 5.469.0 for 32 or 64-bit computers. That file is not from HP site and got this outside at Majorgeeks.com. I did checked to see more information at the site of HP about this and nothing mentioned about this. I have not touched this yet so that is why I came here to post my question to see if it 's wise to update the firmware update utlity (NVidia). Or don't touch this at all just leave out because of flash the firmware.
Let me know about this.
John

Hi John,
You're very welcome.
I have been using, mostly Nvidia graphics cards since the late 1990s.
To the best of my memory, I don't think I ever installed an Nvidia or ATI/AMD firmware update.
If I did and forgot, I would only have done this using the System Integrator's patch (HP, Dell, Lenovo, Gateway, or Acer) or get the patch directly from Nvidia or AMD.
I would also determine: if I needed the patch to fix a specific problem, if the patch fixes the problem I was seeing, and if it applies to the specific card I was using.
Regards

Greetings jpmackay1,
Welcome back to the forum.
I am not an HP employee.
I would not try any updates from sites like Majorgeeks. Did you check the publisher's site to see what the firmware update does? Who is the publisher?
Are you having a problem with your Nvidia graphics card? I would then check HP or Nvidia for a fix.
I have never run across a firmware update. I keep graphics drivers updated by using the Nvidia site for the latest certified drivers.

I am not sure who is the publisher of this file. Really I don't have any problem with my desktop and always update the drivers when it's available from Nvidia. My best guess is that I should avoid this to flash the firmware update utlitiy. Unless someone else might fill in to say more about this.
Thank you,
John
