Need to update microcode 0x12b to 0x12fF

Hello. I have an HP Omen  47L GT22-2080...that is what the box said. When I registered it, is says it's 47L GT-22 -200i....not sure why it is different. Anyway, got a message pop up yesterday that said "Your current BIOS version for this CPU can cause instability."  I need to update the microcode from 0x12b to 0x12F.

Trying figure this out. On the HP driver/software page, it asks what kind of Windows do I have (I have Windows 11.)

Then it asks what version... 

1 - Windows 11

2 - Windows 11 version 22H2 (64-bit)

Apparently I have Widows 11 version 25H2, which is not listed.

What do I do? I need to update my BIOS, but I am stuck right now.

My PC is less than a year old, but apparently  my 1 year warranty has expired because it goes off of the factory build date, and not my purchase date.

Can anyone help me out?

Hi Jeff, The GT22-2080 and GT22-200i are the same OMEN 47L platform; the suffix difference is normal and not a problem. For the BIOS update, select Windows 11 (not 22H2) on the HP driver page. HP does not list newer feature updates (like 25H2) separately standard Windows 11 covers them. The BIOS/microcode update is OS-independent and safe to install. If HP has released a newer BIOS that includes the 0x12F microcode for your exact model, install it directly from HP Support Assistant or the BIOS section of the support page. If no newer BIOS is listed yet, you’ll need to wait for HP’s release do not use BIOS files from other models. Warranty status does not affect your ability to update the BIOS. Hope this helps. I see a F.34 Rev.A BIOs update...that was released on Dec15. Does this have the microcode 0x12F update? It does not say...it's a bit confusing.

Can I just install the update from the  desktop? Or do I have to put it on a flash drive and restart the computer in BIOS mode? This is unclear to me.

I DO NOT want to brick up my PC!!!!

You’re welcome, Jeff.

HP usually does not list the exact microcode version in the BIOS notes. If F.34 Rev.A is the latest BIOS for your OMEN 47L, it is very likely the one that addresses the instability warning, even if 0x12F is not explicitly mentioned.

You can safely install the BIOS from within Windows using the HP BIOS updater. A USB flash drive is not required unless the update instructions specifically say so. Just make sure the system is plugged into a reliable power source and do not interrupt the process.

HP BIOS updates are model-locked, so as long as the update is listed for your exact model, the risk of bricking the system is very low.

After the update, you can check the BIOS version to confirm it completed successfully.

Thank you.....I was able to update  the BIOS to the most current version! Hopefully this fixes the microcode warning I was getting.
