Just upgraded to this newest version from the previous via update check. I have since lost the HP support assist taskbar icon even though it is set to on in the software.

@FattysGoneWild,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Right click on an empty area of the Taskbar, move the cursor over Toolbars and click 'HP Support Assistant' to place a tick against it.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!

Hi,

I tried that and see no HP reference to choose from.

Out of sheer interest: where did you get HPSA v9.0 from?

The latest available here:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93097.exe

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp93001-93500/sp93097.html

is VERSION: 8.7.50.3 REV: A PASS: 1.

As I explained earlier in my OP. I got the newer version through the internal software update check. About tab and check for latest version. I am including a picture of it. I advise not to download it if you want the HP taskbar icon to work again and properly. I rolled back to previous version and all is well again.

Good point, thanks for letting us know.

(I am not being offered this update though - at least not yet)
