OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0045na
Microsoft Windows 11

I have purchased an Intel Arc A770 to use with my OMEN 25L. The GPU requires ReBAR (Resizable BAR) and Above 4G Decoding to function well. The CPU (i5-10400F) is compatible but I cannot find any options in BIOS to enable ReBAR. I have updated to the newest BIOS version but the only options in advanced bios seem to be about memory overclocking. Is there a way to get access to the full Advanced BIOS or are the features simply not available on my motherboard

The motherboard is a HP Dorado 8704

The BIOS is F.26 and 08/11/2023

ANY HELP HUGELY APPRECIATED!!!

Hi @svelsh,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're facing a common issue with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) motherboards, where certain advanced BIOS features are locked down or not exposed to the user. Unfortunately, many pre-built systems, like the OMEN 25L, come with limited BIOS options compared to custom-built systems using retail motherboards.

Here are a few things you can try:

  • Custom BIOS or Modded BIOS: Be cautious with this option, as it comes with risks. Some users attempt to modify their BIOS to unlock hidden features. However, this is a complex process and could potentially damage your system or void your warranty. If you choose to go down this route, be sure to thoroughly research and follow reliable guides specific to your motherboard model.
  • Check for Future BIOS Updates: Keep an eye on HP's official support page for your motherboard model. Manufacturers occasionally release BIOS updates that may include additional features or options. Check for updates periodically to see if a new version becomes available that addresses your needs.
  • Consider an Aftermarket Motherboard: If the lack of BIOS options becomes a significant limitation for your use case, you might consider replacing the motherboard with a retail motherboard from a reputable brand that provides more customization options. However, this is a more advanced and involved solution, and it may impact your system's warranty.

Remember that modifying the BIOS or using unofficial methods may carry risks, and it's essential to proceed with caution.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Cheers, my warranty is long gone so I modded the bios to enable support.

I ended up cancelling the Arc A770 I bought and got a 6750XT instead as this doesn't require Rebar just in case.
