I've had this monitor hanging around for several months, I didn't need it, however recently I thought it would be nice to have a second monitor even though it's old, outdated, only supports 60Hz refresh rate. I bought an HDMI to VGA converter, since my processor doesn't have iGPU and I'm running Nvidia RTX 3060, which has HDMI or DP connections. So I've plugged everything up, my PC sees the HP P221 monitor, but display shows nothing (not totally black, the monitor turns on but no meaningful output). I've tried updating drivers and it has come to my attention that this monitor only has driver support up to Windows 10, and I got Windows 11 on my PC, so I guess it's pointless to try? or is there a solution possible, how to make it work?

Monitors are just "dumb" hardware devices that get video signals over a cable -- they don't use drivers.
Most likely, it is the adapter cable, so I would try this with a VGA cable on an old PC that has a VGA jack -- if you can find one anymore (!)
