The OmenMonitorInstaller is opening itself over and over again. Ending one of the tasks seems to open more and more. They are entirely consuming my ram rending my computer inoperable. Some of the tasks I end say "I don't have permission to do this action." I tried to Uninstal it, but it instantly re-installed, or was not uninstalled in the first place. That to me is very concerning, is this a hack, a virus, malware etc.? I also tried deleting all the files associated with it and I cannot because they are being used in another program.
Can I please have a timeline of when you plan to fix this issue? My computer is all but useless and I would like to know if my information is comprised. Are there any suggestions you can offer in the meantime to help?

Hi @N-sparkles1826,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're dealing with a persistent issue related to the HP Omen monitor software, which is behaving erratically and consuming system resources. This doesn't necessarily indicate a hack or malware but rather a malfunction with the monitor's software or drivers.
Here are some steps you can take to address this issue.
End Processes: Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to end all instances of OmenMonitorInstaller and any related processes. This should temporarily free up your system resources.
Disable Startup: Prevent OmenMonitorInstaller from starting up automatically:
- Right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
- Go to the "Startup" tab.
- Locate OmenMonitorInstaller or related entries, right-click, and choose "Disable".
Uninstall: Attempt to uninstall the Omen monitor software through the Control Panel:
- Press Win + R, type "appwiz.cpl", and hit Enter.
- Find the HP Omen monitor software in the list, right-click, and select "Uninstall". Follow the prompts to complete the uninstallation.
Safe Mode: If uninstallation fails, try booting your computer into Safe Mode and then uninstalling:
- Restart your computer and continuously press F8 until you see the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- Choose Safe Mode and press Enter.
- Once in Safe Mode, attempt to uninstall the Omen monitor software again.
Delete Files: After uninstalling, manually delete any remaining files and folders related to the Omen monitor software from:
- C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\
- C:\ProgramData\HP\
- C:\Users[YourUsername]\AppData\Local\HP\
Registry Cleanup: Be cautious with this step. Only if you're comfortable, you can clean up registry entries related to the Omen monitor software:
- Press Win + R, type "regedit", and hit Enter.
- Backup your registry (File > Export) before making any changes.
- Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ and delete any keys related to the HP Omen monitor software.
Update Drivers: Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers and software for your Omen monitor. Install them after ensuring all remnants of the old software are removed.
Antivirus Scan: Perform a thorough scan with your antivirus software to rule out any malware or viruses that might be causing the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
