What can I load onto my desk top computer that will allow me to download audio books from my library and then transfer them to an MP3 player? Overdrive has been discontinued. Libby can't be downloaded to desktop computer.

I do not use audio so can't help much. My GF wants to use her iPhone to listen to music when walking. I have had serious problems trying to use iTunes on a PC to put mp3 on an iPhone. I assume the same problem or worse exists for audio eBooks.
The link in the following thread works. I was able to download the app. You might want to expand the comments and read some of them.

According to this document, the libby app can run on window 10 or 11 using a browser; ie: streaming
more info about the discontinuance
I quit using kindle and overdrive when I, and especially my GF, found we were accidently buying eBooks from amazon. The overdrive app does not have a good interface to allow the download from Amazon to run smoothly and it is very easy to inadvertently buy the ebook. I am using the zlibrary and the moon reader pro on my samsung tablet. It is far superior to Overdrive on my Surface Pro 4. That library does not have audio books.

Prior to my computer crashing and losing Overdrive, I was able to download audiobooks to my desktop computer free from my library. Then I would use Overdrive to transfer audiobooks to my MP3 player. Now that Overdrive is no longer available, how can I download books from my library and transfer to my MP3 player.
I know that I can download audiobooks to Libby, but how do I get them transferred to my MP3 player.
