OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

I just got my new Omen 17 laptop and it came with 6 macro keys. I discovered these could be bound within the Omen Gaming Hub. So I wanted to set up the P macros to control my media (volume up, down, mute, pause/play), but when I create a macro using one of the FN media control keys (F5-7 control volume, for instance), the macro simply doesn't work.

The macros work fine when it's a different kind of command (I have P5 bound to run Ctrl-Alt-Delete and that works as intended), but the FN key buttons do not work at all. In fact, if I press, say, P1 (which I have bound to Volume Up) while a text box is active, it actually types the letter "b" instead, P2 types "c", and so on.

This is what one of the macros look like. Increasing the delay also does not help.

Unfortunately this video does not help me with my issue. The OMEN Macros tab allows me to create macros just fine (like I said, I bound one of the keys to "Ctrl+Alt+Del" with no issue), but trying to bind the volume keys to the macros is ineffective. In the screenshot I uploaded you can see, it records the fact that I am pressing the volume up key, but when the macro is saved and I press P1, it simply doesn't work.

Thanks for your response.

Try and update the Gaming Hub.

If that doesn't work, please uninstall and reinstall the Omen Gaming Hub: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_3912817-3737596-16 (FAQ)

Let me know if this helps.

I tried to update, but I was already on the latest version, and uninstalling and reinstalling the Hub did not fix the issue. I think it might just be a bug in the app. It's unfortunate because it looks like it should work, but the functionality isn't there at the moment.
