I am running the Extensive Tests in the HP PC Diagnostics app, it shows passed for all tests.  But when I minimize the app and re-open, it shows not run.

Hi @MOImoimoi,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your concern with the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics app showing “Passed” after extensive tests but displaying “Not run” when you reopen it. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the HP Diagnostics App

Close the app fully instead of minimizing it, then open it again.

This refreshes the test history and prevents temporary UI glitches.

Run the Tests Using “Run Once” Mode

From the main screen, choose “System Tests” → “Extensive Test” → “Run Once.”

This ensures the results are saved correctly instead of running in a background session.

Check the Test Log Section

In the app, go to “Test Logs” or “Test History.”

Sometimes results don’t appear on the home screen but are stored correctly in the logs.

Update to the Latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Version

Older versions may not retain test status after minimizing the app.

Use HP Support Assistant or the Microsoft Store to update the diagnostics tool.

Restart the System After Running the Test

A system reboot helps the app index recent test results properly.

After restarting, open the diagnostics app again to confirm if the results show.

Avoid Minimizing During an Active Test

Keeping the window minimized can interrupt how the app records results.

Prefer to let the test run in the foreground until it completes.

Check if You’re Using the Windows App or the UEFI Version

The Windows version may not always retain history if closed incorrectly.

Running the UEFI Diagnostics (from F2 on startup) saves results more consistently.

I hope this helps.
