I have ScanDisk SD cards that my HP PC don't recognize? Like they're not in the sd card reader? They used to work.
They won't read them even when I attach an external card reader.
My PC is about 4 years old and runs windows 10.
My old PC that runs VISTA, the cards work and also with the external card reader too.
BTW I'm old and not very computer savy so plz be kind. lol

@txjim123 -- can you connect the external card-reader to your new computer? Does Windows try to download some device-specific software, over the Internet, to add support for this card-reader? It could take a minute or two for Windows to do this.
With the external card-reader attached, open the Windows "Device Manager", and look for any "yellow-triangles" or "red-exclamation-marks". The markers would indicate that the device-driver software for the hardware is not properly installed. Double-click on the identified device, and click "update driver", to see if this helps.
Do you have the "HP Support Assistant" installed on your HP computer?
If so, run it, to see if it can download & install the missing software.
