Hi @RNRegina,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you didn't set up a PIN on your HP All-in-One desktop computer and Windows 11 is asking for one, it's possible that someone else with access to the computer set it up or there could be some confusion with the login method. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Verify Your Microsoft Account Credentials: Ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft account credentials to log in. Sometimes, Windows 11 may ask for a PIN if the account is linked to a Microsoft account that has a PIN set up.

Try Your Microsoft Account Password: If you don't remember setting up a PIN, try using your Microsoft account password instead of a PIN to log in. Windows 11 allows you to use your account password as an alternative to the PIN.

Check Other Sign-in Options: If you can't remember your PIN or your Microsoft account password doesn't work, click on "Sign-in options" below the PIN prompt. It should offer alternative methods of signing in, such as using a password or a fingerprint if your computer supports it.

Use the "I Forgot My PIN" Option: If you previously set up a PIN and can't remember it, you can use the "I forgot my PIN" link on the PIN prompt screen to reset the PIN using your Microsoft account password.

Try a Local Account: If you've been using a Microsoft account to sign in, you can try signing in with a local account instead. During the login process, choose "Sign in with a local account instead" option (if available), and then follow the instructions to create a new local account.

Windows Recovery Options: If none of the above methods work, you can try using Windows recovery options to access your computer and troubleshoot the issue further.

  • Boot from a Windows 11 installation USB drive or recovery media.
  • Choose your language preferences and click "Next."
  • Click on "Repair your computer" in the bottom-left corner.
  • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  • When the computer restarts, choose "Safe Mode with Networking" (option 5) to boot into Windows 11.
  • In Safe Mode, you may be able to bypass the PIN prompt and access your computer.
  • Once logged in, you can check your account settings, remove the PIN, or set up a new one if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
