Lots and lots of the same error is logged for an external usb-drive (D:) that says "checking encrypted volume: the volume information on D cannot be read". But the USB drive isn't encrypted and shouldn't be checked at all. The setting in Windows for D is "BitLocker off". After too many errors the laptop is shut down unexpectedly.

The question is why the USB drive is checked as an encrypted volume when the setting is "BitLocker off". Is there another setting to use?
