Hi @MYPC_123,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're dealing with erratic touchpad behavior and random typing issues. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot the problem:
Update Drivers:
- Touchpad Driver: Go to Device Manager (right-click the Start button and select Device Manager), find "Mice and other pointing devices," right-click on your touchpad device, and choose "Update driver." Follow the prompts to search automatically for updates.
- Keyboard Driver: In Device Manager, under "Keyboards," right-click your keyboard device and update the driver similarly.
Check for Malware:
- Sometimes malware can cause unusual behavior. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software or use Windows Defender to check for any issues.
Touchpad Settings:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad and check if there are any sensitivity or behavior settings that might be causing the problem. You might want to try adjusting these settings or disabling the touchpad temporarily to see if that helps.
Keyboard Settings:
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Typing and check the settings there. Ensure that the "Autocorrect misspelled words" and similar features are working as expected.
Check for Software Conflicts:
- Try booting your laptop in Safe Mode (restart your laptop and press F8 or Shift+F8 before Windows loads) and see if the issues persist. If they don't, there might be a software conflict or third-party application causing the problem.
Resetting the Laptop:
- As a last resort, you might consider resetting your laptop to its factory settings, but make sure to back up your data before doing so.
