@Paul_Tikkanen
So...make sure the drive controller setting in the BIOS is set to AHCI.
You are correct...
If you followed the instructions in that document to a "T," then all you need to do is boot from the XP installation disk, sit back, and watch XP install (and follow the other prompts when requested during the installation process).
thank you...Thank You...THANK YOU!
THAT was what was preventing my installation from being 100% successful.
Trying to follow incorrect advice to set BIOS to IDE mode, and then back to AHCI was the problem.
Dual boot is working perfectly. Just need to get Windows XP online and updated as far as possible, and get the hardware drivers updated and I will be good to go.
Thanks again!
Joe

You're very welcome, Joe.
Based on the product specs for your PC, here are the XP x64 drivers you need.
Chipset: 1st driver on the page. Install and restart the PC.
https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset?os=Windows%20XP%20-%2064&RenderOnServer=true
Graphics: Install and restart the PC.
https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%20XP%20-%2064&RenderOnServer=true
Ethernet: Download unzip and run the setup application from the XP driver at the link below.
Wifi:
This package contains the driver installation package for the Ralink Wireless LAN Controllers in supported models that are running a supported operating system.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp58501-59000/sp58586.exe
Finding an XP x64 audio driver will be difficult, if not impossible.

Thank you.
Installiing these helped immensely.
I ran into another problem that may require me to start another topic?
Black screen with no signal input to monitor every time I need to restart PC to complete updates.
Have to press and hold power button, disconnect monitor and PC power and HDMI cables wait for up to thirty minutes plug everything back in and go again, until next re-start.
