Hello,

A general question with regard to SCCM Third Party Updates through HP. Is this product still supported? Is there another product that has superseded this one?

Hi @Martin-421,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Yes, HP continues to provide tools and update content for managing supported HP business computers through Microsoft Configuration Manager, formerly SCCM.

The available options include:

  • HP Image Assistant (HPIA): Can analyze supported HP business computers and help identify and install recommended BIOS, driver, and firmware updates. HP provides guidance for using HPIA in a Microsoft Configuration Manager environment.
  • HP Client Updates Catalog: Provides HP BIOS, firmware, and driver update content for use with the third-party software update feature in Microsoft Configuration Manager.
  • HP Manageability Integration Kit (HP MIK): Adds HP-specific management capabilities to Microsoft Configuration Manager.
  • HP Connect: Provides cloud-based management options for supported HP devices managed through Microsoft Intune. It is an alternative for Intune environments, not a direct replacement for every Configuration Manager deployment.

For guidance on using HP Image Assistant to create and deploy driver update packages through Configuration Manager, refer to: Using HP Image Assistant for driver updates in CM | hp's Developer Portal

Therefore, the best option depends on your requirements. Use the HP Client Updates Catalog for third-party update publishing, or consider HP Image Assistant when you need greater control over analyzing, packaging, and deploying HP driver updates through Configuration Manager.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
