Good Morning

My Desktop computer has developed an annoying glitch which is intermittent screen flashing . It mainly occurs when I am using MS Outlook and .

I think the problem occurred after I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia.

I have tried reinstalling Outlook and MS365 thinking the problem could be with them but no joy . I have noticed that i get an intermittent flashing with the internet also but not as bad.

Any ideas on how I can address this annoying problem

This has nothing to do with the Office software and nothing to so with the Internet.  Those are just things you are using when the flashing occurs.

This is almost certainly an indication of failing video hardware -- either the monitor or the video chip or both.

You need to connect an different monitor to the PC. If the visual artifacts also appear on the second monitor, then it is a failing video chip.

If you have a video card, then the card is failing and needs to be replaced. But if you have Integrated Video, then you are using the chips oldered to the motherboard and those are not replaceable.

If the visual artifacts do NOT appear on the second monitor, then the first monitor is failing and needs to be replaced.

Thank you for coming back to me regarding your diagnosis of my flashing screen concern.

I was hoping that the problem was associated with a Nvidia driver update .

If what you say is correct it is doubly disappointing as the monitor and the PC are less the 6 months old.

Luckily, I have a 3 year  maintenance agreement with HP and of course the kit is still under warranty.

I'll contact HP and arrange and arrange the way forward.

Thank you again for your assistance.
