Officejet 6310xi all in one
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

I have a Mac Sierra and HP Officejet 6310xi all in one. After selecting the correct desktop and Officejet models so I can download the correct software to add the printer to my computer, HP's site has not downloaded the software. I tried several times to no avail, used the support directors and useless "virtual assistant" and still nothing!

If this is your printer

HP Officejet 6310xi All-in-One Printer

and this is your Operating System:  macOS 10.13

Then

There are not drivers shown for your printer and OS version at the Software and Drivers Website

Instead, you are directed to the following:

HP Printers - Installing a Mac Print Driver Using Apple Software Update

I believe (after a quick check) that drivers for this printer might be available through Apple software in a similar manner to using Windows Software Updates to provide Windows print drivers for basic print function on older / unsupported printer models.  Obviously, you are not going to use Windows Update or "Add a Printer" - the point is merely to illustrate that the basic print drivers might be available in your Mac Operating System.

If this is incorrect, my apologies - I cannot duplicate the setup you see. (I do not have a Mac system to check for Apple print drivers.)
