Hi @Simplyshining59,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To change or fix your Microsoft sign-in on an HP laptop, you can switch to a local offline account, manage your linked emails in settings, or create a fresh password.

Scenario 1: You are locked out or stuck during setup:

If you are locked out of the initial setup screen, bypass the Microsoft account requirement to get into your laptop.

  1. On the Microsoft sign-in screen, press Shift + F10 to open the Command Prompt.

  2. Type OOBE\BYPASSNRO and hit Enter.

  3. The laptop will restart and allow you to set up a standard Local (Offline) Account.

  4. Once you are on your desktop, connect to the internet and add your correct Microsoft account in Settings.

Scenario 2: You are logged in but want to change your sign-in method:

If you are on your desktop and want to change your password or add a PIN/Fingerprint sign-in:

  1. Open Settings (press Windows Key + I).

  2. Click on Accounts on the left menu.

  3. Select Sign-in options.

  4. Click on Password, PIN, or Windows Hello (for fingerprint/face recognition) to change or set them up.

Scenario 3: The wrong Microsoft account is linked to your PC:

If Windows is logging you into the wrong or an outdated email:

  1. Go to Settings > Accounts > Your info.

  2. Select Sign in with a local account instead. Follow the prompts to create a temporary local profile.

  3. Sign out and log back in using your new local account.

  4. Go back to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and delete the incorrect Microsoft account.

  5. Under Your info, select Sign in with a Microsoft account instead and enter the correct email.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
