Hi there,

 

Has anyone else had any random issues with Spread Elements filling white over the original Imposition. Preview shows ok, but when it is saved the Spread Element covers it all in white instead of being transparent.

 

This was working fine, but randomly it just stops working totally with above affect.

 

Running Smartstream 16 on Mac OS Ventura in InDesign 2021, as that's all that will run the Smartstream I have.

Check Transparency Settings:

  • Ensure that the Spread Element's transparency settings are correctly configured in InDesign.
  • Go to the Effects panel in InDesign and verify that the transparency is set correctly for the Spread Element.

Update SmartStream Designer:

  • Check if there are any updates available for SmartStream Designer 16. Sometimes, bugs are fixed in newer updates.

InDesign Preferences:

  • Reset InDesign preferences. This can sometimes resolve unexpected behavior:
    • Close InDesign.
    • Reopen InDesign while holding down Shift + Ctrl + Alt (Windows) or Shift + Command + Option + Control (Mac).
    • When prompted, confirm that you want to delete the preferences.

Reinstall SmartStream Designer:

  • Uninstall and reinstall SmartStream Designer. There could be a corrupted file causing the issue.

Check File Compatibility:

  • Ensure that the files being used are fully compatible with SmartStream Designer and InDesign 2021.
