Had a problem had to reinstall most things and now it seems I do not have a program that plays DVD's? I tried to go to support for my compouter and shows no software, and I really do not remember what it played in or whethre it is missing some sort of codec or the particular software.

Hi, @brucefl :
This HP Cyberlink software should work on your PC:

DESCRIPTION:
This package provides the Cyberlink PowerDVD application in supported models
that are running a supported operating system.

What is the complete product name and number for your PC? You have only partially identified it at this point.
VLC player is a good free DVD playing software. It is basic, but it plays just about everything as long as you can find the appropriate codec.

That is correct.
There are no DVD codecs in W10. Microsoft didn't want to pay for the licensing fee.
That is why WMP won't work without a 3rd party DVD playing program.
I have the cyberlink software I posted on my HP PC's and I can use WMP or Cyberlink to play DVD's.
