In Windows Update I receive an error message for the HP Software package "Hewlett-Packard - USB - 4/8/2019 12:00:00 AM - 1.0.0.237" which says it is already installed (Install error - 0x80070103) which it is. The error doesn't go away and it keeps retrying to install. How do I stop this? I have removed and reinstalled the update, but it will try to install it again on the next update cycle reproducing the error message. Microsoft's old troubleshoot program will not hide nor stop the update from attempting to re-install.

Thanks

Hi @DonC0

That is a fake update, and it is probably because you had an old printer installed on the PC and it was not uninstalled correctly.

follow the steps in this link to hide the update.

I have used that Show/Hide tool and it does not Hide the download nor the error message.

Strange it should work, I have used it, I recommend to see what printers you have installed then uninstall the printers and restart windows.

The manual Power Shell command appears to have worked. Thank you for advice
