Searching for your best gaming machine option is something you should to do for yourself.  This is true at least to the extent that you have an idea of what you will do with the machine and how much you are willing to invest to get what you want.

Start:

Read about who is using what kind of computers for the type of gaming you do.

Go the the game's website to check for specifications -- what does the game require?

Remember:

Minimum specs mean minimum enjoyment.

That is, if you purchase a product that barely meets the games requirements, you will be left in the dust by better tech.

Think about how much you want to invest -

  1. Invest a little bit and get a little bit of a computer.
  2. Invest a lot and get a lot.
  3. Invest somewhere in between and compromise on performance and features

When you are ready to check what's available from HP, go to the Store and take a look.

If you cannot think of a way sort the list, search for "gaming" or similar.

The advantage of starting at the HP Store is one of finding only new products.

HP does not sell discontinued products.

The top-shelf products are available at the Store, many of which can be customized.

Reminder >> CTO (Custom to Order) systems take much longer to build and ship than "off the shelf" models.

Size Matters

Laptops are much more expensive for what you get than are Desktops.

One reason:  Tiny tech costs more than components that fit in a box.

Another reason:  Heating.  Until components no longer work like tiny blast furnaces, Desktops are generally easier to keep cool than lots of high-end components jammed inside a small, flat case.

You are welcome!

When you get closer to a decision, check the Product support pages for details.

For example,

 Product Home

Enter the device type and model name of your HP product

Open Category Setup & User Guides

Find, open, and read some of the user manual.

For example, read the first chapter.

Remember that there are frequently differences within a series.

Check for backlit keyboard, fingerprint sensor, and an IR camera on the particular model you wish to purchase.

Good Hunting.
