Subject: OMEN 25L GT12-1xxx (ROM SSID 8876) — Request BIOS/TPM Firmware Update

Hello HP Support,

I own an OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-1xxx with system board ROM SSID 8876. My current BIOS is F.23.

In Windows:

msinfo32: BIOS Mode = UEFI, Secure Boot = On

tpm.msc: TPM 2.0, Specification Version 2.0

Problem:
Certain software (Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with Ricochet anti-cheat) is claiming TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot are not enabled, If it stays like this I will be unable to play Black Ops 7. After investigation, I confirmed they are both enabled, but the issue is with the TPM firmware version.

My TPM Manufacturer Version is:
AMD 3.94.0.5

According to AMD’s official FAQ (PA-420):
👉 Any AMD TPM version in the format 3.#.0.# (e.g. 3.94.0.5) requires a firmware update.
👉 Only versions like 3.92.5.5 or newer are considered “OK.”

Reference: https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/pa-420.html

Request:

Please confirm whether a BIOS update for ROM SSID 8876 exists (or is planned) that includes the corrected AMD fTPM firmware.

If so, provide the correct SoftPaq package (or recovery USB image) to update my system.

If not yet available, can your engineering team escalate this issue since it prevents compatibility with modern software and anti-cheat checks?

I am not very technical, so I used AI assistance to help me put this information together, but I’ve attached screenshots of my system info and TPM details to make it clear.

Thank you for your help.

Hi @ThatOneRat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you want to update your OMEN 25L GT12-1xxx to ensure TPM 2.0 firmware compatibility for certain software. Let’s go through the steps to run HP Image Diagnostics, which can help prepare your system for BIOS/TPM updates.

1. Disable Antivirus Temporarily

Before starting, temporarily disable any antivirus or security software on your system.

This prevents interference with the diagnostic and update process.

2. Download HP Image Diagnostics

Go to the official HP link: HP Image Diagnostics

Choose ImageDiags 4.x or 5.x depending on your system.

3. Extract and Run Setup

Extract the downloaded file to a folder on your computer.

Open the folder and run the setup file.

Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.

4. Complete the Diagnostics

The process will take 30–40 minutes.

Ensure the laptop remains plugged into AC power and do not interrupt the process.

5. After Completion

Restart your PC.

Check TPM firmware version in tpm.msc to confirm if it’s updated.

Re-enable your antivirus software.

Running HP Image Diagnostics helps verify hardware integrity and can trigger firmware updates when applicable.

I hope this helps.

Hi Kuroi,

I have the same PC and the same issue. I did what you ask and it did not fix the problem.

I think HP needs to release a new BIOS update for this PC. The latest update is from the 29th of august and that did not fix the problem.

I think this needs to be added:
https://www.amd.com/en/resources/support-articles/faqs/pa-420.html

Now you have a gaming PC and cannot play any shooter like CoD or BF6.

Kind regards
