I would love to use another operating system on my k-0024 but feel uncomfortable because the other options aren’t really designed to come with an installer so when you set them up anything may happen to your connected drives. If I could disable the internal SSD from the BIOS it would allow me to confidently install my other operating system and give me the added advantage of hiding my home operating system from them while in use.

@Thumbult -- are you going to remove the current disk-drive, and install onto a different disk-drive?

That is one way of "protecting" the current files on your current disk-drive, and it also allows you to "go back", should the installation of the other operating system not go as well as you hoped, e.g., missing device-drivers for the HP-specific hardware.
