The myHP app is popping up on its own. I haven't opened in like months maybe(?). I close it and it starts up on its own. So I let it be in the background and it starts up on its own. I disabled the open on start up feature on task manager but it keeps happening. It won't tell me what the problem is. There are no notifications that it wants to show me it just starts up and blinks in my taskbar. I do not know what it wants me to do. And it is not stopping. It has been doing this whole day. I have clicked on every button that I could find but nothing. Help me out please.

Hi @Vachana,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

That sounds really annoying—having an app constantly pop up without a clear reason can be so distracting! Let’s work on stopping this behavior.

Disable Background Permissions for myHP

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features and find "myHP" in the list. Select it, then choose Advanced options.
  • Scroll down to Background apps permissions and select Never. This should prevent it from running in the background and launching on its own.

Check Task Scheduler for myHP-Related Tasks

  • Open Task Scheduler by searching for it in the Start menu.
  • Look under Task Scheduler Library for any tasks related to “HP” or “myHP” that might trigger its launch and disable them by right-clicking and selecting Disable.

Look for myHP in Startup Apps

  • Even though you already tried disabling it in Task Manager, let’s double-check in Settings > Apps > Startup. If myHP is listed here, make sure it’s toggled off.

Uninstall and Reinstall the myHP App

  • Go to Settings > Apps > Apps & features, select "myHP," and click Uninstall. Then, restart your laptop.
  • If you need myHP later for HP support or updates, you can reinstall it from the Microsoft Store. This may reset any looping behavior.

Scan for Windows Updates and HP Updates

  • Outdated drivers or Windows settings can sometimes cause system applications to act erratically. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • Open HP Support Assistant (or download it from HP’s website if you don’t have it installed) to see if any firmware or software updates are pending for your device.

If none of these resolve the issue, consider contacting Phone HP Support for further assistance.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
