To improve your computer's efficiency, you'll want to look for a processor that offers better performance while still being compatible with your motherboard. The Intel Pentium G2020 is based on the LGA 1155 socket, which means you'll be limited to processors that fit this socket.

Here are a few options that could provide a significant performance boost:

1. Intel Core i7-3770: This is one of the best CPUs for the LGA 1155 socket. It has four cores and supports hyper-threading, making it great for multitasking.

2. Intel Core i5-3570: A slightly less powerful option than the i7, but still a solid upgrade with four cores and good performance for most tasks.

3. Intel Core i5-3470: Another good choice that offers solid performance without breaking the bank.

Before upgrading, make sure your motherboard supports the new CPU and that you have adequate cooling and power supply. Additionally, check for a BIOS update that may be necessary for compatibility with newer processors.
