I have multiple questions about imaging thin clients.
1. I have a custom image from a thin client (model does not matter). When i deploy it back to the same device via usb (made with Thin Update), I get the following message "the system does not have license for the image os ".
2. Is it possible to create a custom image for use on multiple models?
3. Is is possible to update or disable the image version checking?
4. Should the image be sysprepped before capture?
5. Is it possible to get all thin clients (multiple models) on the same version of the OS?

Hello GbMacMan,
1: HP has been selling units with Windows 10 IoT LTS version, however they are depended on Microsoft for release version and licensing. HP saves the licensing info on the mother board of the unit.
Microsoft has around 3 versions of Windows 10 IoT for thin clients (2015 LTSB, 2016 LTSB and 2019 LTSC). Unfortunately all have separate license. For latest models you will find them to be Win10 IoT LTSC Ent which cannot be installed on a unit with license for Win10 IoT LTSB causing the error you are getting.
2: Creating a single image for all the models may not be the best solution due to the driver restrictions. It could have been possible with the HP Thin Pro, however for Windows there are too much changes made by HP already.
3: Image version check disabling would not be recommended due to the driver compatibility.
4: Yes there are options to get the same version of OS. If you have thin clients with Win10 IoT LTSB, you check if there is a HP Field Upgrade package (Win10 IoT LTSC 2019) Image that you may have to purchase from HP resellers. However this could be per unit license. Please check with the resellers about the pricing.
