Trying to Log Back Into Old Laptop

• I own an old HP 15-da0032wm model laptop, and recently just had it shipped to me from my family since I don't have money for a new laptop. I tried to log in and realized I forgot my pin number, and I've tried multiple times to try and selection "Other sign in options" to see what I can do. Whenever I select this, the laptop freezes and then kicks me back out to the login screen, and will not let me progress with other sign in options. Is there a way to continue on with a password, or am I stuck here indefinitely? Also, I believe the most recent OS I have is windows 11 but I'm not sure, I haven't used my laptop in a year
