Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I upgraded my system with a gtx 970, but the integrated gpu won't disable. Normally this would be a bios setting. There is no setting in the HP bios. Am i just going to permanantly lose 2GB of ram or is there a solution?

hi

the built-in should be disabled automatically, normally you can't use the motherboard ports anymore
but this problem is known, it is an AMD limitation, and the memory remains reserved
to date, if no option in the bios, nothing to do!

HP Consumer Laptop and Desktop PCs - Available System Memory Is Lower Than the Physical Memory Installed

RESOLUTION

This is by design. AMD reserves some memory capacity in order to support the Microsoft PlayReady feature.
NOTE: The available amount of memory will vary depending the amount of physical memory installed in the computer.
